We are pleased to announce Los Gallos Rumba and
Choro da Alegria as our entertainment for the night!

Los Gallos Rumba

Los Gallos hails from Portland and brings with them the sounds of flamenco music with its rich gypsy and Arabic roots. Their sets are infused with romantic Spanish guitar and cover everything Latin from rumba, to salsa and boleros. Lead singer of the group, Mercedes Estevez, is from Barcelona, Spain, and moved to Portland in 2008. She has family from Jaen, Andalucia - where flamenco music originated - which inspired her to sing starting when she was a child. Estevez also is a songwriter and dancer. She gets everyone fired up with her graceful flamenco inspired movements.

Fernando Monroy, parent of Arco Iris is a performer for this band and he graciously donated their services!

Choro da Alegria

They are a Portland-based ensemble dedicated to playing wonderful melodies of various Brazilian composers. Their group draws much inspiration from the genre “Choro” which has been loosely called “Brazilian ragtime”. Beyond choro they include in their repertoire classic tunes of Bossa Nova and MPB. They are versatile and experienced, playing venues ranging from cozy wine bars to corporate fundraisers. CHORO DA ALEGRIA means “Choro of happiness”.

We hope you enjoy the beauty of Brazilian melodies
as much as they enjoy performing them!

Tom Pinit, parent from Arco Iris has donated the services of Choro da Alegria for three years in a row. Thanks Tom!
